Evaluation of Sustainable Development of Baotou City Based on Ecological Footprint

The ecological footprint model was used in this paper to evaluate the sustainable development status of Baotou City by calculating footprint, carrying capacity and deficit/surplus 2018. results showed that: (1) In 2018, per capita 1.11506 ha, 0.8371 ha. There is 0.2780 ha deficit, which a fragile unsustainable state; (2) demand for farmland, grassland fossil energy land large, but limited; (3) Coking coal, raw coal washing, account 99% footprint; Residents’ needs dairy meat diet structure makes achieve total almost third; (4) land, construction water ranked higher, greater than capacity; Regional sustainability weak, need adjust consumption, residents’ diet, control urban sprawl guarantee city.
